LUZON: Benguet, Mountain Province. Notes: Naturalized in ditches, pools, fishponds and marshes (De Padua et al. 1999). Naturalized.
- var. angustatus Besser, Flora 17(Beibl.) (1834) 30. Distribution: Continental Asia. LUZON: Benguet, Mountain Province. Notes: In swamps, c. 1300m, thoroughly naturalized; cultivated here and there at low elevation. Naturalized.

Distribution: Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Japan, Korea, Laos, Mongolia, Myanmar, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Tibet, Vietnam. LUZON: Laguna, Mountain Province, Nueva Vizcaya. Notes: Known from Laguna from San Antonio, BS 14949. On boulders of stream beds at low and medium elevation. 0-2600m. Conservation status: Least Concern (IUCN 3.1). Native.
