Notes: Known with certainty only from a single collection from Sumatra. Very similar but not quite identical specimen have been found in Palawan in Puerto Princesa (PNH 192 Edano). This was described as Hydnocarpus palawanensis Merr. & Quisumb. Similar materials have also been found in Borneo (Sarawak and Mt Kinabalu).

  1. Hydnocarpus unonifolius Elmer, LPB 5 (1913) 1779, as 'unonifolia'; Type: Elmer 12936. Notes: Various duplicate types bear dets from Sinclair and Sleumer that this is an Annonaceae, probably a Pseuduvaria (J.V. LaFrankie, 4-Jun-16).
